The NBA has announced several key dates leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, with the pre-draft process ramping up in late April. Here’s a breakdown of what’s ahead:
NBA Early Entry Deadline:Â April 26 (11:59 p.m. ET)
NBA G League Elite Camp: May 9–11
NBA Draft Combine: May 11–18
NBA Draft Lottery (presented by State Farm):Â May 12 (6:30 or 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN)
NBA Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline:Â June 15 (5:00 p.m. ET)
The NBA G League Elite Camp and NBA Draft Combine provide NBA teams with valuable opportunities to evaluate prospects through interviews, athletic testing, drills, scrimmages, and comprehensive medical exams. The Draft Lottery, in particular, plays a pivotal role in determining the selection order for lottery teams and could reshape the league’s future.
The NBA Draft itself is also set:
First Round: Wednesday, June 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET (Barclays Center – ABC & ESPN)
Second Round: Thursday, June 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET (Barclays Center – ESPN)
This marks the second year of the NBA’s two-night draft format, following the lead of other major leagues like the NFL.
Early signs suggest the 2025 class is a strong one, with top prospects like Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey, and VJ Edgecombe generating significant buzz.
With the regular season now in the books, many teams are turning their attention to the lottery and pre-draft evaluation process, knowing that what happens over the next few months could define their future.
